The NextStep CNA program is broken into three parts to help you master skills and earn your certification.
1) In-app learning: You will learn skills in bite-sized steps. have access to hundreds of expert training videos and interactive learning through the NextStep mobile app. Registered Nurse mentors are available via chat to support you throughout the course. ~150 hours
2) In-person Practice Labs: As you master skills online, you’ll also practice skills hands on at the NextStep Practice Lab alongside peers and Registered Nurses. ~32 hours required + unlimited open lab hours.
3) On-site clinical visits: At the end of the course, you will attend an on-site clinical rotation as part of state requirements. ~16 hours
*You will also be required to complete additional state requirements including up-to-date immunizations & TB test, fingerprint background check, and CPR/First Aid training.
The NextStep course is designed for you to go at your own pace. We recommend 3 skills per day, 5 days a week to get your CNA in 10 weeks. Registered Nurse mentors will be available throughout the course if you have any questions or concerns.
The final step to getting your CNA Certification is to pass the state administered CNA Exam. Your NextStep training and mentor team will help ensure that you will do great!

Requirements for job placement:
Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States with valid license or ID card
High school diploma or GED
Certificate from an accredited CNA program (NextStep is an approved program in Colorado!)
Pass the state administered CNA Exam
Job Candidate Requirements:
You must be legally eligible to work in the United States, have a valid license or ID card with proof of age, high school diploma or GED, full immunization & TB test, and a fingerprint background check. Eligible candidates cannot have a felony conviction or record of abuse, negligence, or misappropriation of property. Employers will require a physical exam with no mental or physical disability that would render the candidate unable to practice as a Certified Caregiver. Students are required to complete a First Aid/CPR course.
